Sparks flew between two strangers at the Beach Bar in Asbury Park in the summer of 2015.
“We were in the right place, at the right time,” Jennifer told us of the first time she met Jared. “We had an instant connection. The conversation was effortless, and that made him even more handsome to me!” Jared was equally smitten. “Jennifer was beautiful, smart, funny, and had a great smile. She was so easy to talk to and be myself around.”
Naturally, we headed back to Asbury Park to capture their engagement session! We had so much fun hanging out on the boardwalk, checking out the murals and ducking inside Convention Hall to take breaks from the chilly weather. Most of all, we loved learning more about Jennifer & Jared!
One of our favorite things to talk about with our couples is their proposal story. We’ll let Jennifer tell you all about how Jared popped the question:
“The best part about Jared’s proposal was that it was real and not overdone for the public. We were living our everyday life with our beautiful daughter, Emilia, and he simply just asked. He did say a lot of sweet things before he asked, but I don’t remember because I was in serious shock mode! It really made it so special that the three of us had that moment together.”
Jennifer and Jared are getting married this September at one of our favorite venues: Windows on the Water at Frogbridge. “I love creating the vision that I have and bringing it to our wedding day,” Jennifer told us. “Colors, decor, and overall theme are fun things for me to play around with! I already anticipate how handsome Jared will look. I’m also over the moon to have Emilia involved in our ceremony as our flower girl. I’m probably more excited to dress her up than myself!” Jared is looking forward to seeing Jennifer for the first time that day. “I can’t wait to see how beautiful my love is going to look!” he said. “I’m also looking forward to celebrating our love with family and friends…and the food!”
Jennifer and Jared have great advice for anyone planning a wedding:
Jennifer says, “Stay true to yourself during the wedding planning process. Remind yourselves that this is about two people and not anyone else. Be direct with your expectations to each other. Erase the stigma about the bride planning everything. Involve your partner by making a binder of all of your ideas, music must-haves, and pictures of your visions. More FUN, less stress!”
Jared’s wise words (you can tell he’s a smart man!): “Have patience and be open to change. Just do whatever she says! If all else fails don’t forget the card and flowers!”
Thank you, Jennifer & Jared, for choosing us. We can’t wait to capture your big day!
