How did Caitlin & Jordan meet?
okcupid.com to be exact.
“One night I was about to delete my account when, suddenly, I received a notification that an incredibly handsome guy liked my profile. Basically, we both swiped right and the rest was history,” Cait told us.
Right from their first date, the couple felt like they’d always known each other.
“Jordan is my best friend and my rock,” Cait said. “He challenges me every day to be the best version of myself and I feel so lucky to have such a strong and caring partner.” Jordan said that meeting Caitlin is the best thing that’s ever happened to him. “I love making her laugh and being wacky with her. She’s loving and kind, not to mention extremely beautiful! Our personalities blend so well together and loving her has never felt like work.”
Their proposal story is one of our favorites! We’ll let them tell it from their point of view:
Caitlin: “It was the end of my first year of teaching and I taught fifth grade. Jordan had dropped little hints and since we had a trip planned to Boston for the following week. I told my co-teacher that I thought it was going to happen there. She let Jordan know, and Jordan really played it up. In my mind I had it all figured out…
One afternoon, close to the end of the school day, my principal called me for a “meeting.” When I got back, I walked down the hallway and saw that the lights in my classroom were on, which was strange because the kids were watching a movie when I left. The hallway and my classroom were completely silent…something was amiss. I walked in to see my entire class holding signs over their heads. I tried to piece it all together (thinking it said ‘Happy Last Day of School’ or something) but I did a double take and my heart stopped.
The letters spelled out: “Will You Marry Me?” And there was Jordan kneeling with a ring. I was so surprised that I fell back into my classroom door! He got me really good! My class, co-teacher, and Jordan did an amazing job keeping such a huge secret. It was truly perfect and so thoughtful.
Jordan: “What most impressed me about proposing to Caitlin was the fact that everything went perfectly. Since I am a project manager, I always prepare for things not to work out as well as they are planned. The day before I proposed, it was like a CIA operation. I was texting back and forth with her co-teacher planning out all the details. The plan went off without a hitch and it is a day that I will never forget.”
As you’ll see, we had a blast photographing their engagement session at Allaire State Park. We walked the trails, checked out some historic buildings, said hello to a praying mantis and played in the leaves. We just adore this couple, and we cannot wait for their wedding this August!
